We are the market leader in oily waste treatment and hydrocarbon recovery. HEC is managing the treatment of a wide range of waste waters, from maritime as well as of industrial origin. The integrated treatment process takes place in our state-of-the-art land treatment facility where more than 1.5 million tons of oily waste have been treated since the commencement of its operations and is focused on the processing of water/ hydrocarbon mixtures. 

For the treatment process, our latest achievement applied in our plant located at the Piraeus port area, is a novel device array, that allows the optimal separation of high and low flash point oily waste into three by-products. These benefits are achieved with low energy consumption, and odor-free conditions, enabling it to operate in an urban environment.

As all ports are adjacent to residential areas, our patented process is of a particular significance since it mitigates the negative port impacts on the city. This original process is acknowledged and protected with an international patent valid until 2033 which guarantees an excellent environmental footprint wherever is applied.
